"Among the Stars" is set in the dozen closest star systems to Earth, in the 2300s. Two players compete to take over the map, acting as either Humans or the alien Symphylids.

Unlike many "space maps", this map conveys some sense of the enormous distances and emptiness involved in astronomy. But if you do take time to explore the map, you will be rewarded...

if you are the humans and even if you killed the alien hive, the alien fleet comes. Graphics are cool though.
