Footmen Wars

New Features of Version Beta 5:

Footmen Wars is a remake of the original Footmen Wars while combining it with Footmen Wars II. Besides the added features that came with Footmen Wars II, this version also has elements from the modern Footmen Wars maps.

Unlike other Footmen Wars maps, the main focus in this version are the footmen. There are no races, so you won't see ghouls, archers, and grunts covering the screen. Heroes are not juggernauts of destruction, and do not revive. The no hero revival not only encourages players to use their hero with their footmen, but stops annoying "suicide your hero to kill 10 minutes of spawned footmen" startegy with heroes such as the Priestess of the Moon and the Firelord. Though upon death if a hero, the player who owned the hero is given one lumber to purchase a new hero.

Another change is only 2 players per team, like the original and Footmen Wars II. Having 2 players on a team forces more teamwork and cooperation, makes full houses easier, and make it easier on a player who has had all allies leave (in this case, only one).

Footmen Wars tiers also work a little differently. Upgrading from a Town Hall to a Keep does not just improve the units that spawn but the upgrades available. New tier units have only a 50 hit point 1 armor advantage over the previouse tier unit, but gain newer upgrades. The upgrades available at each tier are:

Tier 1 Upgrades
- Iron Forged Swords increases the minal attack damage of all footmen by 1 and the maximum by 2.
- Iron Plating increases the armor of all footmen by 2.
- Defend allows footmen to use the defend ability, which increases defense against piercing attack by 50%, gives a 33% chance to reflect piercing attacks, and lowers footmen movement speed by 50%.
- Tower Reinforcement allows the production of Arrow Towers.
- Tower Enhancement increases the attack speed of Arrow Towers and Advanced Arrow Towers by 125% as well as gives all towers the ability to see invisible units.Requires Tower Reinforcement.
- Keep increases the hit points of the structure by 500, the armor by 4, increases the vision by 300, lowers the repair time by 60; enables the use of Tier 2 upgrades.

Tier 2 Upgrades
- Steel Forged Swords further increases the minimal attack damage of all footmen by 1 and the maxiumum by 2.
- Steel Plating further increases the armor of all footmen by 2.
- Swordsman Training upgrades all Footmen to Swordsman. Increases their hit points by 50 and armor by 1. Also enables the use of the Shieldsmanship and Swordsmanship upgrades.
- Shieldsmanship gives all Swordsman a 9% chance to block 5 damage on an attack.Requires Swordsman Training.
- Swordsmanship gives all Swordsman a 7% chance to deal 1.35x the footman's normal damage on an attack.Requires Swordsman Training.
- Advanced Tower Reinforcement allows the production of Canon Towers.
- Advanced Tower Enhancement increases the attack speed of Canon Towers by 10%, as well as gives them the burning oil ability which burns the ground for 10 damage over 2 seconds.Requires Advanced Tower Reinforcement.
- Castle increases the hit points of the structure by 1000, armor by 6, vision by 500, and lowers the repair time by 60 seconds; enables the use of Tier 3 upgrades.

Tier 3 Upgrades
- Mithril Forged Swords continues to increase the minimal attack damage of all footmen by 1 and the maximum by 2.
- Mithril Plating continues to increase the armor of all footmen by 2.
- Arcane Mastery upgrades all Swordsman to Arcane Swordsman. Further increases their hit points by 50 and armor by 1. Also enables the use of the Magic Defense and Arcane Blade abilities.Requires Swordsman Training.
- Magic Defense allows footmen to use the Magic Defense ability, which increases footmen defense against magic attacks by 66% and reduces their movement speed by 33%.Requires Arcane Mastery.
- Arcane Blade gives all footmen a magical enchantment which increases the footman's damage delt to a target by 1 for each additional time he attacks the same target after the first.Requires Arcane Mastery.
- Arcane Tower Reinforcement allows the production of Magic Towers.
- Arcane Tower Enhancement increases the attack speed of Magic Towers by 12%, as well as gives them the Magic Blast ability which gives the Magic Tower 3 additional magic attacks for 20 damage each.Requires Arcane Tower Reinforcement.

A healing aura is given off at the player's main base, which only effects the player's and the player's allies heroes as well as a mana regeneration aura at the central fountain. There are 3 different shops in the center of the map (1 being the center fountain, 1 being the 2 vertical shops, and 1 being the 2 horizontal). The center sells consumeable items, the vertical shops sell stat increasing items, and the horizontal shops sell orbs. There is also a shop in each base which sells aura giving items, orbs, "tiny" towers, and powerful magical items as well as three mercenary units:

- The Builder repairs damaged structures.
- The Archer provides a long ranged piercing attack.
- The Tauren provides powerful melee and "tanking" capabilities.

Each player starts with two Scout Towers, and each base contains two extra slots for the placement of additional towers. Scout Towers can be upgraded into one of three different towers:

- Arrow Tower specializes in single target attacks. Has moderate damage and a fast attack speed. Also has a 12% chance to deal two times the tower's normal damage on an attack. Can be upgraded to have a 125% attack speed increase.Tier 1
- Canon Tower specializes in cluster target attacks. Has high splash damage and a slow attack. Can be upgraded to have a 10% attack speed increase as well as burn the ground it attacks for 10 damage over 2 seconds.Tier 2
- Magic Tower specializes in multiple-target attacks. Has a moderate damage and a multi-target attack. Has the ability to attack 2 additional targets for 20 damage each. Can be upgraded to have a 12% attack speed increase as well as attack an additional 3 targets for 20 damage each.Tier 3

Arrow Towers can also be upgraded the the Advanced Arrow Towers:

- Advanced Arrow Tower specializes in single target attacks. Has moderate damage and a very fast attack speed. Also has a 20% chance to deal three times the tower's normal damage on an attack. Can be upgraded to have a 125% attack speed increase.Tier 3

Some other features are:
- All heroes available from the ladder games are available with a maxiumum of 10 levels.
- Modifiers for heroes that decide to go on the wall such as granting visibility to all players as well as taking 3 damage per second.
- A tip and hint system that periodicly gives hints and tips to players to help take advantage of some of the games features.
- A Kill Count Board to help keep track of the leading player in kills.
- An upkeep system that lowers gold gained from killing a unit for each level of upkeep a player is in.
- Back entrances to bases for more strategy and ways to attack enemies.

This game is still in Beta Testing, which means the game is playable, has many features, but there will most likely be bugs. In newer versions I will begin to add and balance custom heroes. Feel free to leave any feedback, comments, or opinions on this map.

Nobody has any bugs to report? No comments on the map? Nobody to even claim my map prefers its own sex as its sexual preference? This is a first.
